Born in Colombia, Jorge Amado graduated as a Veterinarian from the National University of Colombia, with a specialization in Business Administration in 1997. He has more than 30 years of experience in the poultry industry in the areas of parent stock, breeders, hatcheries and broilers. He worked for 17 years with the distributor of Ross product in Colombia (Avicol), as Technical Service Manager for customers in Colombia and Ecuador.

Linked to Aviagen since 2012 as Technical Service Manager, and since 2018 is the Head of Technical Services for Aviagen CAME (Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean), responsible for the technical service team for customers of Ross and Arbor Acres lines in the region.
